Optimization Algorithms - Least Square, Parameter Distance
Several algorithms are available for a Deterministic Nominal Optimization. Generally no algorithm solves all problems. The following rules of thumb can be given for the algorithm selection:
Least Square is a rather robust algorithm. But it is not able to further optimize the circuit, after the performances fulfill the specifications.
Parameter Distance solves the optimization problem, such that the circuit is further improved if all performances fulfill the specifications. Such it is especially suited for problems where a good starting point for a Yield Optimization is required.
