IMMS and MunEDA announce common R&D and project cooperation
Erfurt-Ilmenau-Munich, Germany - Thursday, September 30th, 2004
IMMS - Institute for Microelectronic and Mechatronic systems and MunEDA will cooperate both in common R&D and governmental projects
MunEDA and IMMS today announced to cooperate in order to speed up Design for Yield technologies for industrial partners and companies in Germany and Europe. To reach this goal IMMS will act as R&D and methodology partner for MunEDA. Both companies also work together as project partners in current and future R&D activities and governmental projects (e.g. MEDEA+-Project ANASTASIA+). By taking the advantage of a joint R&D, IMMS and MunEDA are now capable to increase knowledge and technology transfer in fields of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFY (Design for Yield).
"Since we started our cooperation in July 2003 as part of the ANASTASIA+ Project, this topic enlarged the collaboration based on existing project results. Strengthening our mutual partnership enables us to deliver leading-edge DFY/DFM-technologies and methodologies to our regional and worldwide industry partners", stated Prof. Dr. Franz Rössler, Head of IMMS Institute in Erfurt, Germany. "With MunEDA as a strong partner we will meet the design challenges of our customers".
"With the IMMS partnership we are enhancing our R&D and methodology capabilities", stated Dr. Frank Schenkel, Vice President of R&D, MunEDA. "Together with IMMS we are able to deliver a wider range of DFY and DFM applications and solutions to our customers. MunEDA is pleased of being able to enlarge the cooperation with such an innovative and outstanding organisation like IMMS".
About IMMS Institute for Microelectronic and Mechatronic Systems is a non-profit Research and Development organisation based in Ilmenau and Erfurt, Germany. It was set up to offer industry practical product development with a sound academic foundation, thus assisting in getting technological innovations onto the market. The main Research and Development activity at IMMS is the creation of complex engineering systems, largely involving heterogeneous microelectronic and mechanical components.
