NTHU National Tsing Hua University of Taiwan and MunEDA close strategic cooperation in research and education

Hsin-Chu, Taiwan - Monday, May 4th, 2009

NTHU ranked as one of the premier universities in Taiwan

MunEDA and NTHU (National Tsing Hua University) of Taiwan have closed a strategic partnership and cooperation agreement within MunEDA´s worldwide University Program. MunEDA will provide its worldwide leading Design-for-Yield EDA software tools solution to be used in NTHU Department of Electrical Engineering. The common activities will be focused on academic education and research in analog and mixed-signal circuit design at NTHU. MunEDA and its Taiwanese distribution partner GTI Grand Technology Inc. will support NTHU with software, trainings and education for design analysis and optimization methods.

"We are pleased to have MunEDA as our strategic partner for DFM-DFY front-end design software and methodology", states Dr. Mi-Chang Chang, Professor of Department of Electrical Engineering from NTHU and former Director for library and IP development with TSMC, Taiwan. "With the support of MunEDA´s outstanding front-end level tools for circuit design, modeling and optimization for performance and yield, NTHU will become a leader in analog and mixed-signal academic IC design analysis and optimization technologies to maintain the competitive edge in high-technology research."

"To close this cooperation is a logical step on MunEDA´s strategy to provide universities and non-profit research centers with our leading EDA design analysis and optimization solutions." states Dr. Michael Pronath, Vice President Products & Solutions of MunEDA and Chin-Lung King, CEO of MunEDA´s Taiwanese Distribution Partner GTI. "NTHU and especially their outstanding Department of Electrical Engineering is key to provide the Taiwanese academic and education market with leading edge EDA and methodology research results. Having successfully introduced our tool suite WiCkeD in the Taiwanese semiconductor industry, the logical next step is providing support for academic and educational programs in circuit design with our software tools and knowledge."
