Dr. Bernd Lemaitre, worldclass expert in DFM-DFY, joins MunEDA Advisory Board
Munich, Germany - Friday, May 1st, 2009
Deep knowledge in DFM-DFY, Device Modelling & Characterization for MunEDA
Dr. Bernd Lemaitre, experienced Manager in DFM-DFY field joins MunEDA as Member of the Advisory Board.
Dr. Bernd Lemaitre studied Physics at the Institute of Nuclear Physics at the Technical University TH Darmstadt. After the diploma he joined 1985 Siemens AG, Semiconductor Division in Munich and started work as development engineer at the CAD center for integrated circuits. Main scope of work was in the area of device modeling and technology characterization of advanced CMOS technologies. During his work he developed new CMOS device models, especially for analog IP design in the deep sub-micron range and memory simulation for productive use at all Siemens AG design center. In 1994 he received the PhD in electrical engineering at the Bundeswehr University, Munich, at the Department of Electronics.
At Infineon Technologies AG, former Siemens AG, Semiconductor Division, he held several engineering and management positions in the area of Device Modeling and Technology Characterization of CMOS, Bipolar and Power Technologies. During this time he was responsible for design support and maintenance for SPICE modeling for all Siemens and Infineon design center worldwide. He represented the Infineon AG in the CMC (Compact Model Council), grounded by SEMANTECH, to promote the international, nonexclusive standardization of compact models and interfaces for circuit simulation. From 1997 to 2001 he held the position of a Vice Chairman of the CMC.
In 2002 he changed his scope of work into the DFM/DFY area and led as program manager an Infineon internal project for the evaluation and implementation of new methodologies and tools for DFM into the Infineon Design Flow. Target of this project was the enhancement of yield and ramp capability of Infineon products during design-, ramp- and manufacturing phase in the area of systematic (defect, lithography and CMP) and parametric limited yield detractors. From 2004 he was responsible at Infineon Technologies AG for DFM/DFY within Technology Development and Lead Design Projects in 130nm, 90nm and 65nm Technology nodes.
Harald Neubauer, CEO & President of MunEDA: "We are very proud that Dr. Bernd Lemaitre ond of the world´s most experienced experts in DFM-DFY joins MunEDA Advisory Board. Bernd will contribute his deep knowledge in CAD and device modelling for MunEDA´s further success."
