MEDEA+-labelled Pan-European Research Project HONEY presented at MEDEA-FORUM 2007 in Budapest

MEDEA+-labelled Pan-European Research Project HONEY was presented at this year MEDEA-FORUM 2007 at November 26/27 in Budapest, Hungary. Within this project leading European semiconductor and EDA companies building a consortium for research and develop Highly Optimized desigN methodologiEs for Yield and reliability. The consortium consists partners from the three countries France, Italy and Germany. Leading chipmakers are STMicroelectronics, Infineon and X-Fab. This is implemented by IP houses like Dolphin Integration, EDA companies like Infiniscale, Xyalis and MunEDA as well as research institutes like IMEP, IMMS, TU Munich and University Frankfurt.
The project contains an overall effort of 180 man years during a three and half years phase from July 2007 until December 2010. The project is structure into three work packages: 1. Block and circuit design 2. Automated layout/recticle generation and optimization 3. Process maturity monitoring through predictions and measurements. The project is addressing yield and reliability at different steps of the design flow. Project leader is Philippe Garcin from STMicroelectronics Crolles, France.
