Kurt Antreich
Prof. Dr. Kurt Antreich

Professor Kurt Antreich is emerited head of the Institute of Electronic Design Automation at the Technical University of Munich, Germany. An IEEE Fellow, his research led interests are in computer-aided design tools for electronic circuits and systems, with particular emphasis on circuit optimization, layout synthesis, testing and synthesis of digital systems. Besides many national scientific commitments he has served as a member of the steering and program committee of various international conferences (e.g. IEEE ICCAD, IEEE ISCAS, EDAC, Euro-DAC) and as a member of the editorial board of several international technical journals. His research led to more than 300 publications and resulted in many significant applications in industry. He received many national honors and was a best paper candidate of the ACM/IEEE Design Automation Conference in 1993 and 1995, respectively. He was awarded with the EDAA Lifetime Achievement Award 2003 as well as with the EDA medal 2003. Before his University career, Kurt joined Bosch Telecom, where he was involved in the development of circuits and systems. After that he became head of the department of advanced development in Backnang, Germany. Kurt received a MS degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Munich and a PhD degree from the Technical University of Karlsruhe, Germany.
